Rise early and enjoy breakfast at 6:30 AM before departing the island at 7:00 AM. Once back on the mainland, head straight to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, where you’ll witness these fascinating primates, often called the "Men of the Jungle," as they swing through the trees toward the forest feeding platform. Learn about the centre’s incredible work through an exhibition and video presentation.

Just next door, visit the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of the world’s smallest bear species.

After lunch at SJR Restaurant, take a scenic overland drive to Bilit, a riverside village along the wildlife-rich Kinabatangan River. Check into Bilit Adventure Lodge around 2:30 PM and enjoy traditional afternoon tea with local snacks at 3:30 PM.

At 4:00 PM, embark on your first Kinabatangan river cruise, where you may encounter proboscis monkeys, hornbills, macaques, crocodiles, and more.

Begin your day with a tranquil sunrise river cruise at 6:00 AM, a magical hour when wildlife is most active. Return to the lodge for a refreshing breakfast.

Later in the morning, join a guided jungle walk through the lush riverine forest, where you’ll learn about the unique biodiversity of this ecosystem. Return to the lodge to freshen up and enjoy a relaxing lunch.

After a rest, enjoy afternoon tea at a nearby local house before setting out on a second wildlife river safari, this time venturing to another section of the Kinabatangan to maximize your chances of spotting new wildlife species at dusk.

Enjoy your final morning cruise at 6:00 AM as the river awakens once again with wildlife activity. After returning to the lodge for breakfast, check out and depart for Sandakan at 8:30 AM.

Arrive in town for a relaxing lunch, followed by a Sandakan City Tour that captures the area’s historical and cultural highlights. Your tour includes a visit to the serene Sandakan Memorial Park, the hilltop Puu Jih Shih Buddhist Temple with panoramic bay views, and St. Michael’s Church, one of Sabah’s oldest stone buildings.

Explore the lively Central Market, a hub for local produce, seafood, and handmade goods, before visiting the Agnes Keith Museum, where colonial-era life in North Borneo comes to life. Wrap up your journey with a stop at the English Tea House, where you may enjoy refreshments (own expense) while soaking in breathtaking views of the city and coastline.

After the tour, transfer to your hotel or Sandakan Airport for your onward flight.
