Overview
Escape to the serene Mantanani Island for a tropical getaway filled with coral reef snorkeling, sunset village walks, and the chance to witness magical Blue Tears bioluminescence under starry skies.
Itinerary
Begin your island escape with a 7:00 AM pick-up from any city hotel in Kota Kinabalu. After a scenic 2-hour drive, arrive at the jetty by 9:00 AM, where you'll have a short rest and use of washroom facilities. At 9:15 AM, board a speedboat for a 45-minute transfer to Mantanani Island.
Upon arrival around 10:00 AM, get ready for your first snorkeling adventure at two vibrant coral sites, weather permitting. At 1:00 PM, enjoy a local-style lunch on the island, followed by resort check-in at 2:00 PM. The afternoon is yours to unwind—swim, sunbathe, or simply enjoy the serene surroundings.
At 5:00 PM, indulge in a tea break and, if you wish, join an optional walking tour to the local fishermen’s village, where you can experience daily life and catch a beautiful sunset. Dinner is served at 7:00 PM. Afterward, participate in a beach crabbing activity or, if conditions are favorable, witness the magical Blue Tears (bioluminescence) phenomenon. The rest of the evening is free for your enjoyment.
Start the day with a sunrise walk at 5:00 AM, soaking in the tranquil morning views. Breakfast is served from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM. At 10:30 AM, embark on another snorkeling trip to explore two new dive sites, teeming with marine life.
Return to the island for lunch at 1:00 PM, followed by leisure time to enjoy the resort or participate in optional island activities. In the late afternoon, savor another tea break at 5:00 PM and revisit the fishermen’s village for another chance to enjoy sunset views.
Dinner is served at 7:00 PM, and the evening features another opportunity for Blue Tears spotting or beach crabbing, followed by time at leisure under the stars.
Begin the final day with an optional sunrise walk at 5:00 AM, followed by breakfast between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM. After a relaxed morning, check-out from the resort at 10:00 AM and enjoy your final island lunch at 12:30 PM.
At 3:00 PM, board your boat back to the mainland, where you will be met for your return transfer to Kota Kinabalu, marking the end of your unforgettable island retreat.
